The to do list application Todoist has announced a complete redesign of its application on Wear OS alongside the various Google I/O announcements.
The application of to do list Todoist is taking advantage of the Google I/O which took place last Wednesday to announce a complete overhaul of its application on connected watches under Wear OS.
Todoist: an aging application on Android connected watches
The current version of Todoist dates from 2018 and uses the codes of Android Wear, the former name of Wear OS. We find for example the WearableDrawerLayout : a convention of swiping down or up in full-screen pages. Currently in Todoist, swiping down from the top of the screen provides access to the inbox, upcoming tasks, and various sorting options.
Renewal for the task management application on the occasion of Google I/O
It was Google who announced at I/O 2022 that Todoist was going to modernize under Wear OS. Indeed, users will now have a central list with a large button to add a task. Below, they will be able to access sorting options, inbox, today’s and upcoming tasks as well as favorites.
In short, Todoist offers a complete redesign that is easier to use. The update’s rollout date has yet to be announced.
This redesign is also part of Google’s desire to develop and optimize the applications available on Wear OS 3, for example by launching Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4. The web giant spoke in particular of SoundCloud and Deezer which could happen”later this year“, with a view to following the releases of future connected watches on the market. Moreover, Google formalized its Pixel Watch during its conference on Wednesday evening.
