Once we have designed the content for our presentation, the next step you need to do is to present the content to others.
Yes, maybe you are too familiar with the design after the Slide is finished, just press the key F5 and start running right?
However, on Powerpoint you can do more than that, so in this article, I will show you how to make PowerPoint presentations more professional, not just click. F5 to run from start to finish.
I. How to present PowerPoint
Note: In my tutorial using the PowerPoint 2019 version, the other versions are similar.
To show Slide we have the following ways, I temporarily called the mouse and how to use the keyboard (shortcut) offline.
#first. Use keyboard shortcuts to slide shows (often used)
Fn + F5 on the keyboard to switch to the slide show interface from the first page. If you want the slideshow to start from the open slide, press the key combination
Shift + F5 okay.
#2. Use the mouse to control
Perform: You go to Tab Slide Show on PowerPoint => select:
- From Beginning (F5) => This time it will show from the first Slide.
- From Current Slide (Shift + F5) => This time it will show from the slide you are opening.
Or You can also click the Slide icon in the status bar, the bottom right of the Slide is okay.
II. PowerPoint slide presentation options
Once you have entered the presentation, the following options are available. These are advanced options that I find you rarely use during the presentation.
#first. Switch between slides
To move to the next Slide, left clicking it will run all the content and effects => then it will move to another page.
If using the key, you can press: Enter, space, right arrow key
(→), or up arrow
(↑) to the next page.
Quotation: To return to the next slide, use the left arrow key
(←), or down arrow
(↓) on the keyboard.
Alternatively, you can also right click the mouse
Next to move to the next Slide, left
Previous will slide back.
#2. Move to any slide in the presentation
While you are presenting, to illustrate to others or you want to move to any slide in the presentation, do the following:
+ Step 1: Right-click Slide => and select
See All Slides.
+ Step 2: Now all Slide pages in the presentation will display as shown below, now you just need to select 1 Slide that you want to display, then immediately Slide will show up.
Note: In the lower version of PowerPoint, you choose
Go to Slide => then select the Slide you want to display, inconveniently we do not see content like this 2019 version, so you have to remember the page number ^^.
# 3. Zoom in on an area of the presentation
For viewers to see an object, or a certain area in Slide, right-click => and select the feature
Then drag the mouse to the area you want to zoom in, left click, the area will be enlarged.
# 4. Color the screen
When the slideshow has trouble, to be more professional, you should change the color for the screen to black and white
Right click => select
Screen, if you choose
Black Screen then the projection screen will turn black, and the same if you choose
White Screen then the projection screen will turn white.
If you choose to enter
Show Taskbar then it will display the bar
Taskbar so you choose another program.
# 5. Change the mouse cursor when presenting
When presenting, you want to emphasize or highlight a piece of content, you can move the mouse pointer with a pen to circle, or change the cursor to Laser ..
Right-click => select
Pointer Options => then use one of the following options:
- Laser Pointer: Move the mouse pointer to the Laser style icon.
- Pen: Turn the mouse pointer icon into a pen style, can draw or localize the content to highlight the main idea.
- Hightlighter: Also used to emphasize an object or content in a presentation.
- Ink Color: Change color.
# 6. Slide show 2 screens
The main purpose of a two-screen presentation is to let the presenter know the content of the next Slide.
Right-click on the presentation Slide => select
Show Presenter View as shown below.
After selecting, the screen will display two screens, the first screen has a large size showing the content of the current Slide, while the second screen (right) will display the content of the next Slide. .
This feature is very useful to help you capture content and recall better.
# 6. Exit the Slide currently playing
To exit the presentation is very simple. Usually I will use keyboard shortcuts
ESC on the keyboard. Or you can also right click => select
End Show to end the presentation.
# 7. Resize PowerPoint slides
Sometimes during the Slide show on the screen, your presentation will not show the full screen, now try resizing the frame rate to see if it is full.
Note: But first, you should copy the PowerPoint Slide file to a backup first, to avoid the problem of image deflection after changing the frame with the original file 😀
Design => select
Customize => select
Slide Size => Now we will have 2 options that are:
- Standard (4: 3)
- Widescreen (16: 9)
In case Power does not expand the content of the Slide, it will give you two options that are:
- Maximize: If you use this option, then the slide size will increase. However, it may result in the loss of the image, or the display of missing image content when the size of the Slide increases.
- Ensure Fit: This option will shrink your content and make sure nothing is lost.
In addition, you can set up more options via options
Custom Slide Size...
There will be options as follows, you can set up to suit your needs.
So I have very detailed instructions with you how to slide PowerPoint slides, and advanced options during the presentation such as: Slide any slide, 2 screen slide show, change the mouse cursor …. and lots of other useful options.
Hope this article will be helpful to you. Good luck !
