Analyst Jeff Pu revealed that this upgrade is expected to appear on the iPhone 15 and at least one model of the iPhone 15 series will use a periscope lens.
Most likely, this upgrade will make it to the Pro models as Apple seems to be working on making a big difference between the standard and high-end models.
While we have to wait until the iPhone generation launched in 2023 to see the appearance of the periscope lens. But right now, Apple is preparing to bring the next changes to the iPhone line launched this fall.
In other words, the iPhone 14 released this year will have a big change and the most noticeable difference will be the removal of the “notch” on the Pro models.
The new iPhone product line will have up to 4 models including the all-new 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.
While the two standard models will still have the familiar notch screen design, with the Pro version, the most notable upgrade is still the introduction of a new punch-hole screen. This means that parts like the selfie camera and the Face ID module will be integrated inside the display.
This is the first step towards bigger changes in 2023, including the return of Touch ID. However, at this point, all of the above changes are still unconfirmed so we need to wait for more leaks from Apple.
