How much RAM is the iPhone 12 Pro?
The RAM of the iPhone 12 Pro is up to 6GB.
Based on information in the latest Xcode beta from Hiraku, it can be said that both of Apple’s new iPhone 12 Pro models have 6GB of RAM while the cheaper iPhone 12 models have 4GB of RAM. Apple itself doesn’t disclose how much storage the iPhone has, but benchmarks and other data may shed some light on this topic. Previously, benchmarks for iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 revealed that both are equipped with 4GB of RAM.
The iPhone 12 Pro / iPhone 12 Pro Max pair are considered the first iPhones with 6GB of RAM. Differences in RAM, if correct, will be one of the key performance distinguishing factors between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models as both device lines feature the latest and greatest A14 Bionic chip of Apple.
Additionally, there are some early benchmark test results that are believed to originate from the iPhone 12 Pro. Specifically, the test revealed information about a device called “iPhone 13.3” running iOS 14.1. The benchmarks show the higher-end iPhone has 6GB of RAM and show the device scored 1590 points on the single-core Geekbench test and the 3120 in the multi-core test. Previously, the iPhone 11 Pro scored 1336 points in the single-core test and 3545 in the multi-core test.
Due to the difference in multi-core scores, this result is evaluated as not accurate. In fact, the Geekbench tests can be easily tampered with, and there’s no way to verify if they originated from the actual iPhone 12 Pro.
Apple announced the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro at a major event on the night of October 13. IPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models will be available for pre-order at 5 a.m. Pacific on Friday, October 16. iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available for later ordering on November 6.
