Adding buttons using the WordPress short button is a quick, easy way to add styled buttons, customize WordPress posts or pages.
There are great WordPress button plugins that I found to use for this. It has a multitude of functions and different options. WordPress Button Plugin MaxButtons is a great little plugin that will do exactly this for you. It lets you edit buttons at WordPress then apply them to posts or pages using simple shortcodes.
To do this, you first want to install and activate the plugin on the WordPress website.
Install and activate the WordPress Button Plugin MaxButtons
Once the plugin is activated, it's time to go to the settings page and fix the plugin settings to your liking. To get there, click MaxButtons> Settings in the WordPress main menu on the left.
As you can see the installation page is quite direct and accurate. There are only a few main installation options, as this is just the beginning for what the plugin actually does. Going through the setup option is really quick and once you're ready, go to the add-ons and create a button.
Click MaxButtons> Add New, this will take you to the page setup to create a new button.
Click maxbuttons and then add new to create a new button
As you can see there are countless options available, this is where you will create a new button and save it. Once saved, you will be given a WordPress shortcode for the button, which you can then use at the appropriate point on the post or page you own.

Create a new WordPress button
You see there are many options available to you. There are main settings, sub settings are available. Basically, everything you need to create and edit buttons in WordPress is up to you. Main settings include:
- Text Shadow
You will use this combination of settings to build the WordPress button shortcode that you use on posts or pages.
Installation gives you everything you need. However, perhaps the best part from setting up a WordPress button plugin is the fact that it provides you with a live preview to use when you build the button. So it lets you see exactly what it looks like in real time. The live preview shows a button, which will look like a mouse.
Go ahead, create the first button and then save it. You can create as many unique custom buttons as you want. Every time you save a new button, it is filtered into the “Buttons” section of the MaxButtons area. Each button will be listed and next to the button will be relevant shortcodes. You just need to take this shortcode and put it into any post or page you have created.
Sometimes it is a nightmare to add buttons to WordPress editor because of code and location issues. I hope this article has shown you how easy it is to add a shortcode WordPress button to your post or page.
